A Southwest Pilot Explains What Happened over the Weekend
Quote:
The tyrannical mandate, he explained, erased all of the good will pilots and other conservative employees had felt toward their company.
That newfound ill will manifested itself over the three day weekend, not with an organized strike, but with many disgruntled employees calling in sick, or not signing up for overtime to help the airline fulfill the increase in flights typical for a holiday weekend.
I feel for Southwest. I suspect that they weren't asked, they were TOLD that they would mandate the vaccine, or else the FAA might accidently "misplace" their Operating Certificate. If you're the boss, and you're faced with the choice of ticking off some of your employees or being completely shut down by the feds, what do you do? I support the pilots expressing their displeasure, I just wish there were a way to direct their anger at the appropriate target instead of at their company (which is most likely caught between a rock and a hard place) and their passengers.
We also know that conservatives flying that flag are full of crap as they continue to cheer on the government control of women's reproductive rights.
Murder of innocent babies that irresponsible people are having?
