Just to drive anywhere or eat anything you have to pay an arm and a leg. I dont see companies rolling over backwards to help their employees out financially. They just assume keep the revolving door going and just hope they can find one eyed unicorns to work for the cheapest wage possible while stockpoling all the revenue for themselves. . . How does anyone afford themselves to live much less a family of 5-6 or more.

I don't know, but did anyone really think we were going to get trillions of dollars of government spending for free?

Let me let you in on a secret- every single dime the government spends comes from taxing the people. Either they tax them by taking their money, or they tax them by taking the purchasing power of their money. There is no such thing as something for nothing, at least not where I'm from.

All part of the plan. An impoverished, hungry, downtrodden populace is less a threat to an authoritarian government.

If you are an employee, you must pay the inflated prices, & you have no recourse.

If you are an employer, you just raise your prices, so you can get the money back. All your competitors do the same thing.

Employers do the same w/ tax hikes...we never lose on inflation, or tax hikes. We just pass along higher costs to customers.

I do feel bad for employees though.

My employees, and sub-contractors, are paid well enough to weather the storm...so far.

Yeah sure. I'm shaking in my boots.

How many threads do we need to have on the same topic?

All part of the plan. They don't want you to be able to afford to support yourself. If you can't, then you are more dependent on their programs, and you have to vote for them. That is the cycle, or downward spiral, of socialism.

If you don't have something to add to a thread, don't bother.

Beautiful sunshine. I lived through the 70s, that was inflation. Guns and butter plus oil cartel upping cost of imported oil. Whats happening now is nobody is building affordable housing so rents/cost of non luxury housing is through the roof. Groceries and Chinese dry goods are from the covid. Lot factories shut down and those with income were buying stuff rather than services. Transportation was hurting anyway and covid threw in another monkey wrench. Just be happy you are in the Roaring Twenties where rich get richer with lot funny money until it all collapses when some idgit pulls out the rug with some major banking scam or something.

How old are you? 30? You don't have any idea what "crazy" inflation is. Try 8%. 10%. 12%. 15%. And not for 6 months, but year after year in the mid and late 1970's. Everybody is spoiled now after decades of 2 and 3%. I say big effing deal. Stop using so much gas and stay home and cook - you'll save a crap ton of money. You're welcome.
