Michael Flynn, and other far-right radical conservatives, envision an America where Christianity is the ONLY religion in America.
Most Americans, even some of the C-D conservatives in this very thread, have agreed that Flynn's vision of a "one religion (Christian only) America" is absolute psycho babble. Crazy talk.
Thank goodness Flynn was dumb and dishonest enough to lie to federal investigators about his actions abroad and he ended up being arrested, so he couldn't be NSA
Monotheistic religion is a battle between the most puffed-up of Vanities.. God's Vanity -- Praise and worship ME or die. And Man's Vanity -- the Almighty cares about ME and whether I praise Him or not.. The ultimate in Egos.
People like Flynn are one of the reasons I turned my back on organized religion nearly 60 years ago and never looked back. Every day I wake up in the morning and thank God I'm a heathen.
Jesus Christ! How did He fail to fulfill the prophecies?
He did not fulfill any of the requirements to be the Moshiach. He was to:
Build the Third Temple (Ezekiel 37:26-28).
Gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel (Isaiah 43:5-6).
Usher in an era of world peace, and end all hatred, oppression, suffering and disease. As it says: "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall man learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4)
Spread universal knowledge of the God of Israel, which will unite humanity as one. As it says: "God will be King over all the world – on that day, God will be One and His Name will be One" (Zechariah 14:9).
He didn't do any of that, so how could he be the Messiah?
Out of many hundreds, thousands of false prophets, Jesus has proven to be the most dangerous of all resulting in thousands of years of oppression and danger for my people. But that's just an aside from the theology.
Just as we have one de-facto language, the US has one de-facto religion -- monotheism. Even US money acknowledges "God" in the singular. Courts acknowledge God in upholding insurance policies' exclusion for "acts of God.

In 2021 how many young people really take religion seriously?
Not the majority of them.
