'So called?' Those proposing it have admitted it. Do you deny it?

No.

We're talking about YOUR version of historical facts and HOW they are presented.

We've taught about slavery for decades.

The difference is how it's presented and the motives behind how it's presented.

What CRT conveniently leaves out is that people of all races have been slaves at one point or another in history all over the world.

Yes, including White people.

CRT preaches incorrectly that American history of African slaves is somehow unique and also leaves out facts such as Africans participating in the slave trade themselves.

It also ignores the fact that it was White people in America that ended slavery and helped fight against it worldwide ever since.

You don't want to teach.

You want to preach and indoctrinate.

Anyone who is still telling you at this point that CRT is just "teaching history" is either an idiot or being deliberately dishonest with you.

That's a bargain!

Boston's per pupil expenditure is over 25k/year and STILL the system grossly underperforms.

Private school tuition is directly from the parents, public schools are funded by many tax payers. But if you think private school is a better option go for it but in addition to the cost parent input into curriculum is non-existent.

The Dept of Ed isn't going to review this complaint since this takes effect in the 2021-2022 school year, but I assume the Mom's for Liberty will file again. Another reason the legislature shouldn't be involved in education, imagine teaching and attempting to comply with 14 state guidelines.

Quote:
The Tennessee Department of Education recently declined to investigate a complaint filed under a new state law prohibiting the teaching of certain topics regarding race and bias.

The complaint, the first directed to the state under the new law passed this spring, was filed by Robin Steenman, chair of the Moms for Liberty Williamson County chapter, a conservative parent group sweeping the nation.

The 11-page complaint alleged that the literacy curriculum, Wit and Wisdom, used by Williamson County Schools and at least 30 other districts, has a “heavily biased agenda” that makes children “hate their country, each other and/or themselves.”
..........................................
Though the new law prohibits 14 concepts such as the idea that one race bears responsibility for past actions against another or that the United States is fundamentally racist, the department declined to investigate the allegations because the lessons occurred during the 2020-21 school year, according to a letter obtained by The Tennessean.

Why is the teaching of Civil Rights history all of a sudden controversial NOW as opposed to decades past?

Is it because racial disparities continue to exist long after the Civil Rights movement ended segregation and people don't know why?
