After weaseling out the first time with Kim Foxx, I doubt that the current prosecutor had any interest in giving Jussie a light plea-bargain that he could have had in the first place if he'd come clean.
I'm glad they made an example of Jussie and ALSO exposed how political and friendly ties with prosecutors like Kim Foxx can see the law ignored for the right people.

It gets even worse. I read in the Post today that his lawyer is 100% certain it will be reversed on appeal.

But one can see how his lawyer has a vested interest in continuing to ride the gravy train as far as they're allowed to lay tracks. How much of this is a combination of egging on by his lawyer, his "friends" and family combined with a desperate (and misguided) belief that the only way to a positive outcome is to keep playing until the bitter end. Kind of like a gambler that's lost a ton of money but is certain that their luck will change on the next roll, of course they don't honestly believe it, they just convince themselves to provide the justification to continue.
