For US it was a "red line”, same as NATO’s missiles in Ukraine for Russia. At least Russia perceives NATO missiles in Ukraine the same way as the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Who is threatening to invade Russia? No one. This is like a bank robber whining that he is being forced to carry a gun, because law enforcement might prevent him from stealing people's property. Russia just wants to act like bullies and steal land from their neighbors.

It's not about "threatening to invade."
It's about the gradual strangulation.
That's the intention, that's the plan.
