Mandates will end but I hope the practice continues in the sense that you won't be looked at as some weirdo when wearing one. I swear every time I have flown prior to the mask protocol I ended up with a cold or some nagging virus. I know they say the air is pure in the plane so maybe I caught it at the hotel, in the airport, at restaurants, but still I don't trust that plane with people behind me and across from me hacking like they had TB or something.

Actually the reason there's no vaccine for the common cold is because Pfizer thought it wouldn't be profitable. We could easily vaccinate against the common cold.

How does cotton 'protect others?'
People who don't wear fabric or paper over their mouth and noses don't qualify as sociopaths.

Such a thing CAN happen if we continually disrupt a child's ability to read facial expressions, have normal social interactions, and to empathize during key developmental windows. Go on You Tube and look up the Still Face Experiment (Dr. Edward Tronick). Human beings need to see faces.
As adults, not seeing a human face is dehumanizing. It is why terrorists put people in hoods, why religious fanatics force women to cover their faces, why it actually used to be illegal to cover your face in public.
It is time to stop pretending masking is some kind of benign social practice.
