I've heard a lot of weird horror stories about Alexa, but I haven't had that experience myself. Although I have been using the Echo Dot for over a year now. The only thing I can't figure out is why my Alexa beeps at 3:00 am, but I've researched it and closed the issue. If we talk about your needs, Alexa will be a very useful assistant for you. You won't regret it if you buy it.

How about I just say shove this stupid technology and think out things for myself.
I think there is a danger involved naming inanimate objects as if they are people. Maybe you and others are relying on computers way to much to make simple decisions in your life. Try thinking for yourself and doing for yourself....next thing you know your toaster will have a name, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and you will be having conversations with them. In my opinion it's insanity.
It sounds like Alexa wanted the girl to try a stupid tik tok challenge that was going round a few years back. The kids were dared to take a cell phone charger and plug it half way into a socket and then drop a penny behind it so it contacts and causes a smoke, sparks and flames. The kids were doing this at schools.
Maybe Alexa was trying to get the girl to burn the house down? You never know who is at the other end of those things.
Mr. Troll told the kiddies on CD forums that 110 volts can't kill you. That was just before he electrocuted himself in his home in an attempt to prove it when another poster claimed 110 volts CAN indeed kill you. Mr. CD Troll killed himself, thus making the exact opposite point that he was trying to make.
