My best friend described the "cold" he was having to me, about a month or two after I'd gotten over it. He hit every major symptom except fever, and was convinced he didn't have it because he didn't have a fever. Just this week, he finally changed his mind and thinks he had it back then.
I'll bet the number who actually haven't had it is in the 30-40% range, or maybe lower. It's just not bad enough on a lot of people for them to believe they've had it, because they've been so well conditioned by the media to fear it as something it's not.
