We have had a number of racially motivated police ambushes, killings etc. in recent years given the explosion in hate and rhetoric during 2020 and 2021.
Unfortunately Californians have to learn the hard way. These homeless people cannot be helped. They are terrorizing the public and innocent people are getting hurt. 2nd death by a homeless person in 2 days.
Our society needs to get away from the idea that people become homeless through no fault of their own.
The kind of person who will likely become homeless is highly predictable. They are not “regular people.”

There are five families that were made homeless earlier this month because a man forced his way into the apartment of his ex, shot at cops for several hours, and then set fire to her apartment. Because the town didn't repair the fire hydrant during the three years it was known that it didn't work, the fire department had to wait for water trucks to arrive to start to fight against the fire. The fire spread. I guess these families are "not regular people" since their becoming homeless was "highly predictable." It's obvious that they didn't become homeless "through no fault of their own."
It wouldn't surprise me if another Paul Kersey didn't emerge. Maybe even more than one.
He was the vigilante in the 1974, Charles Bronson film Death Wish.
