Only in California would something so stupid could ever see the light of day. Naturally being California, some poor soul, will open his home to a homeless person and afterwards, the homeowner will just be a sad story be only a quick blip on the evening news.
No sane person would ever do something soooooooo stupid…. But it’s California.
And thus why NIMBY is common throughout the country.
In the Muslim countries, their culture is communal, so you won't see homeless people on the streets, and I've done dozens of walking tours of Muslim countries on Youtube. Where are they?
In San FranNimby-o it's the anti-development, anti-density Nimby's that should be housing the homeless as they're part of the problem.
Pelosi's unforgivable act was to turn the Presidio into a national park. Housing advocates wanted to put subsidized housing on that acreage.
1972- The Presidio was included within the boundaries of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
1994- The Presidio was transferred to the National Park Services
1996- Congress created the Presidio Trust as a Federal Agency.
How did Nancy manage this? Republicans held the majority in both chambers. Support was bipartisan.
There are 423 National Parks in the US. Is there any history of a national park being used to create housing for homeless people?
I cannot imagine too many will be interested in opening their homes to mentally ill/ drug addicted people.
This is how it starts. Get everyone used to the idea. Then pretty soon those homeless come to your door with official papers from the government saying they are assigned to your house.

She got that pet project by horse (or rather pork) trading. *shrug* You can rest assured that someone like Bob Dole or other movers and shakers from back then got something for their home states or areas in exchange. Kansas got a lot of man-made lakes due to Dole...stuff like that.
Excellent idea. The folks that are in such a hurry to spend other folks money and hand out free stuff should certainly take these folks in, help them get on their feet, and give them a better life.
As soon as they find themselves playing dr phil while trying to get them off drugs or have to hire professional cleaning services that will probably end.
More importantly as noted earlier a lot these homeless do not want to live in a house, pesky rules even in a house
If the taxpayers want the homeless to be housed, then the taxpayers should build a lot of inexpensive housing and government expense and put the homeless in there. It should not be the responsibility of private citizens to do the government's job and pay for it out of their own pockets.
While not located in the Bay area, I do house two otherwise homeless brothers (20 and 23-year-olds). Their 21-year-old stepsister moved out recently after renting a nice apartment. It's been much more difficult to get rid of the brother's though. They want to work part-time and play video games all day. I will probably have to begin the eviction process soon.
Once they are gone, their mother and I are not taking anyone else in. We are done.
