It might or it might not. Putin already said if the west tried to stop him in Ukraine there would be a response never seen in recorded history (paraphrasing). Many have interpreted that to mean a nuclear response. He could play the nuclear card again with Poland or whatever country he wants to take and what will NATO do? Get nuked or let Putin have Poland?

No, exactly sure about that. China doesn’t want a war with the US and/or NATO.

Whether it's the CCP or Putin, it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

and the U.S. has regard to international laws and treaties? Alaska is a state. Why would Putin invade Alaska? Ukraine can't take NATO weapons and corrupt money to build an anti-Russia power on Russia's border. Is that simple.

Imagine if Russia has a 30 country alliance against the U.S. and builds up their military on Mexico and pours money in Mexico to hates us and they have their military in 80 countries around the world and supports 87% of the world's dictators and just finished invading Iraq and Afghanistan and are droning the hell out of other countries. How would We react to the build up in Mexico?

I can agree (at least I think I can) on China not wanting a war with the US. I don't think they give a damn about NATO, though. But the reason I don't think they want a war with us is because they basically own us already. We are like a milk cow to them. We buy their crap more and more every year and go into debt with them more and more every year. They milk us. That has to be pretty hard for them to look at and even think about giving it up. But... the way things are now, who knows. Once the milk cow (us) runs dry... then we have a real problem.

This is not the time to start snapping at each other.

Obvious division makes us look even weaker than we are.

It would be like self-annihilation if Russia used nuclear weapons against a NATO country, as there would be a swift retaliatory nuclear strike in return.

Once the Russians got across the Bering Strait, what direction would they head next? Would Nome be the next target, or would they head for Eielson Air Force Base near Fairbanks?

Only if they had the will to retaliate.

That's the problem with having super weak leaders, they'll always seek to pacify. Given all we've seen from Biden's handlers, why would we think they'd respond with anything but economic sanctions no matter what Russia did?

Most of Europe is under Russia's thumb because they can't survive without the gas Russia provides them so they won't do anything.

There's a reason why Russia knows they can do whatever they want right now.

We are very well armed. The Russians couldn’t beat the mujahideen in the ten years they were in Afghanistan. They wouldn’t fare well in Alaska either.

There are no roads from Nome to anywhere. And to travel overland is quite inhospitable.
