It was absolutely Covid theatre. DeSantis got it right. He made it crystal clear that those kids should not feel pressured or bullied in to wearing masks. Those kids learned a valuable life lesson.
And yet two of them have said they felt pressured by him. I don't think they learned what you think they learned.

Most of us loved how he handled COVID. During the summer spike of 2021 he didn’t bow to pressure and refused to institute lockdowns or worthless mask mandates. And for this he will be re-elected with a huge margin.
The Covidians who are scared of this harmless virus are in the minority. You guys lost in Florida and the rest of us will be glad to buy your butts plane tickets to states more of your liking like NY!

They believe anything. Pretty much live in their own heads not in reality. Literally anything.
Personally, I would not want my child feeling that he or she needs to listen to some random politician on health issues. We live a certain lifestyle and are health conscious people (with or without COVID).
