The collusion is another topic and legit. Many pushed the Russian pipeline while getting soft of Russia and I'm looking at Obama, Biden and Kerry.
^^^ This. It isn't treason. That is a very serious offense and the word is thrown around here too loosely. Should the US be doing it? No. But it isn't treason. Buying oil is not an attempt to overthrow the government, which is a requirement in the definition you quoted (which is similar but not the exact definition in the U.S. Code).

Edited to add the definition from the U.S. Code, which applies to the actual crime: "Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States." https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2381

7,000 unused oil leases and $100 a barrel, what’s stopping the drillers.

The US is not the nation at war with Russia right now. Thus, it would not be "treason" to import anything from them.

If we did go to war with them, then yes, we absolutely should boycott importing oil from them ... but like my point above, that would probably happen anyway.

Great poll...pretty much shows where all the right leaning peoples positions are in this conflict. I remain fairly neutral. Watching the game play out... Human nature playing out on the big stage.

Sure... I am willing to deal with higher costs on goods if it would actually contribute to pressures against Russia. We will survive... Those over there may not or have already died.

The feds and states should halt gas taxes for the time being. Easy short term fix. That should offset the Russia issue.

Since the pipeline allowed Russia to not have to work with Ukraine to move their oil, it all but assured that he would make this bid. We could ramp up drilling and sell to the Europeans no. We wouldn’t want to be smart about it, not with these yahoos in charge.
