I've never subscribed to the whole linking gay people to pedophiles logic. But this new thing they're teaching kids in NJ in K-2 is pure debauchery. It's not hype or "talking points." The guidelines and several lesson plans on how to teach them are online, real ones. The "Amaze" website they promote teaches kids how to search the internet for free porn. It's insanity - pure insanity. Anyone with an internet connection who is interested in what's going on and want to prevent it in their state should listen to NJ101.5 in the morning. This is real.
Exactly.
It's specifically TARGETING young children. That is an undisputed fact.
But I am not convinced that it is a mental illness or that the parents are nuts.
Parents have the right to teach their children what they see fit. If they want to talk to their children about transgenderism, who is stopping them?
What we’re talking about is SCHOOLS teaching children about transgenderism.
This is the issue that liberals want to avoid discussing, for some reason. Actually, I think they know the reason, but they want to avoid discussing that too.
Everyone is aware of the surging "transgender" movement, especially when it comes to children wishing to change their gender identity.
My question is thus: Is this a modern-day fad, part of political tribalism that's pervasive in our society, or is it something that's really happening to our children? By that, I mean, is it a real thing that more and more children are really born into the "wrong body," something that hasn't happened in all of human history?
I've heard theories that plastics and other pollutants are causing a blurring of the genders, with large numbers of children being born who are not really one gender or the other, but more in between. Hence, the "identity shifting" that we see so much today.
I have no idea if this is true or not, and I sincerely hope that all of this is simply a popular fad, which will soon die out.
Definitely seems more common now. Is that because Trans people feeler safer to 'come out' or people with genuine mental illness and depression are being groomed into being Trans by our society?
Yes, to the bolded. As far as your accusation of grooming goes, conservatives have been trying to paint LGBTQ people and our allies as child sexual abusers and pedophiles since the 60s, if not before then. Ultimately they failed. And will again, because the vast majority of us are decent, law abiding people...just like you.
You're right, one cannot change their gender, that is in the brain, which cannot be changed. The body can be changed, which is what hormones and surgery are for. Whether you accept that or not is irrelevant. As far as sex goes, my transition had f all to do with wanting to sleep with men. Or women. It was, and is for me, and only me. So I'm not "tricking" anyone into anything. You ASSume too much.
If, by some chance they're able to develop a drug which could reprogram the brain to counter the gender-shift, would you have wanted it? Would you support its use in others? Should be it be encouraged over physical surgery?

I can't wait to see what happens at the ballot box in November in NJ. I suspect there're gonna be a few replacements being made.

I have a lot of teachers in the family. None of them have ever heard about teaching such things to kids, from pre school through high school.
IMO, it has no place in a public school. When parents enroll their kids in private school they are approving what is taught.
I just wish there was some way concerned and confused teenagers who don't know what's up had a place to research their dilemmas.
Son had an after school job at the library a few blocks from our house. I think they hired him to go into the rest rooms room at closing time to collect and shelve all the sex education books. The books were there every day, in the stalls.
After 64 years of marriage and kids, grand kids and awaiting great grands, IMO, people are no more knowledgable about child development than they were 64 years ago.

The problem is that - as far as I can tell - no State representatives are up for re-election. I do think the Republicans will be more successful than most years in the federal elections here in NJ in November. Unfortunately, that won't really help us, which is something a lot of people still don't understand about basic US politics, kind of a shame. I saw a political add the other day for a young guy running for Congress in NJ and mentioning the new Sex Ed for Kindergarteners curriculum. Unfortunately, him winning the Congressional seat won't really help to change anything in the NJ school curriculum.
