authoritarian ultra nationalism? The cult of Trump. the idiotic hide from our history nonsense. Enough said.

Forcible suppression of the opposition however...it would be a stretch right? Folks. People in unmarked vehicles kidnapped Portland citizens off the streets. People protested for MONTHS straight, and the police brutalized them over and over. But more importantly? Republicans pushed for extreme definitions of presidential power. And Trump abused things. The "emergency" he claimed to fund the failed wall? Was utter nonsense, and remains so. More judges, and the usage of employment verification would have done 100X more at 1% of the cost.

Strong regimentation of society, and the economy. On the GOP side theyre all about protecting the rich from taxes. Look at Scotts idiotic tax plan. Oh save the poor wealthy! The heros for many in the right? The wealthy. Oh and it looks like racism is trying to be made ok again. Joy.

We dipped our toes into fascism under Trump. And it looks like he tried to go full bore. Stunning how many folks arent terrified by this.
The only fascists in this country are the left progressives. They have become a cult, and if you don’t tow the line with everything they say you are cancelled. Traditionally, America has been more live and let live, but now the left has become fascists. You will capitulate to everything! The scary thing is they have academics, media, entertainment as part of their cult. Moderates and conservatives are starting to make some gains. The fact is the fascists have gone too far and most Americans don’t agree with them.

which ones... sorry but a characteristic does not make someone left or right... as most people fall into they have both

I agree with him and we are there now.
Agreed, gov't spending as a % to GDP has now exceeded 50%, and the Fortune 500 now produces 2/3rds of GDP.

We have ~1,086 people running the entire show.

I am SO tired of posting comments like this, but it is obvious that many people do not know what fascism is. Here is a dictionary definition for those who don't already know -- unless, of course, the libs have also changed the meaning of that word, too:

fas·cism | \ ˈfa-ˌshi-zəm also ˈfa-ˌsi- \
Definition of fascism

1 often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

2: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control
early instances of army fascism and brutality

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fascism

P.S. FDR was not a fascist.

No I do not believe that the United States of America is sliding into fascism .

Of course the principles of classical liberalism and republicanism , which still deeply infuse our political culture to this very day , have been falling by the wayside for quite some time and are indeed in danger of becoming nothing more than purely theoretical .

That however doesn't mean that the United States is sliding into fascism , since illiberal/authoritarian/totalitarian governance is not the same thing as fascism , a peculiarly Italian ideology created by and for Italians which no longer exists outside of a few still living devotees of figures like the late Giorgio Almirante : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giorgio_Almirante

An American who truly believes in the authentic precepts of fascism is about as likely as an Italian who truly believes in the authentic precepts of the American variety of republicanism , i.e. technically such a person can exist but must necessarily be as common as a white colored crow .

Oh, ok... But I don't understand then why communists and fascists seems to hate each other... They believe in many of the same things... Like Hitler and Stalin. They seemed very similar to me....

Fascism is not nationalism! Fascism is socialism/communism.
