I mean despite having overwhelming numbers in both troops, tanks, equipment etc. Ukraine has been able to completely obliterate them and make their military look like a total joke in just about every encounter. Watching lots of videos and the Ukrainians have made Russians look like the most sadly pathetic, most incompetent military force on earth. I laughed so hard when I watched one where a Ukrainian farmer used his tractor to haul away one of their own tanks. The Russians equipment sucks, their tanks suck, whatever training they give them obviously really sucks, their aircraft sucks, their generals suck....Like seriously, it seems as if there isn't ANYTHING about the Russian armed forces that DOESN'T suck.

As large as a country they are how is it that EVERYTHING about their military can suck so horrifically bad? Did they put a toddler in charge of their military or something? LOL!

Well, first of all, you are watching too much Ukrainian propaganda. As Gen. Hodges, I believe, has said, Ukraine is winning the war on Twitter, not in real life. We are all supporting the brave Ukrainians, but let's not forget the reality.

Unfortunately, Ukraine has no path to victory. Putin cannot afford to lose the war, or he won't survive. He will reduce Ukraine to ruins, if it comes to that. What sucks, in your words, is not the entire military, but the way the war has been planned and executed, with attacks on all fronts without securing proper logistics to support such a spread-out force.

Yes, the Russian military doctrine seems to have been stuck in the WWII, and their military shows the superiority of well-trained American volunteer force over the conscription-based poor Russian model.

What doesn't suck is the Russian weapons. Kalashnikov is the most popular automatic in the world. Whatever else they could steal in the West, they simplified and tried to improve.

What does suck in their training and morale. They are the invaders, after all.

I think it was a combination of underestimating the will and prewar preparations of their opponent which lead to the wrong time of the year with mud all around to attack. Along with facing the first widespread use of newer drones and fire and forget defensive missile technology and counter measures in place were barely adequate against the older generation guided missiles.

They have no NCO corps.
Their military leaders need to use force to get the job done.
They conscript all men between age 18 and 27 for a single year.
No one can be trained to be effective in the military in 12 months and if they become effective at that 12th month their time is up and the military has to start all over again with new green recruits.
They have graft and cheating by contractors that provide the equipment.
They do not know what PMCS means,

Like even several of their generals have been killed LOL. It just seems like if they didn't have any nukes they'd be a very easy nation to invade and destroy.

Actually, looking back in history, hasn't the Russian military always sucked really badly? In WWI they got totally wrecked, and in WWII the only reason they came out victorious was due to all of the equipment America sent them as well as their willingness to just happily send their troops into kamikaze like attacks?

I don't know but it's gotta be pretty embarrassing for all of the people who complete about the US military being "woke" and stan the Russians. "THIS is what the military is doing, while Russia is training and getting prepared?!" At least everyone sees through that now...

The lack of NCO's is a major problem in the Russian military.

The lack of experienced soldiers, and a reliance on young poorly trained conscripts is another.

Poor and outdated equipment is another.

A lack of infantry supporting tanks is another.

Failures in relation to logistics and communications is another, and the list goes on and on.

Institute for Study of War (ISW) is a pretty good and objective source to understand what's going on over there.
