Economy is in a pickle negative GDP growth and record breaking inflation causing the fed to take away the juice that had bid up asset prices. Do you feel more uncertain/negative about this economy than you did during the financial crisis?

I feel certain and negative. I am certain it will get much, much worse. Worse than the Great Depression.

No. Ordinary people are suffering from unfairly high prices. This inflation has to die and go to hell where it belongs. The Joetato recession will send the inflationary spiral to hell where is belong. Hyperinflation or anything close to it will lead to federally mandated price controls and other socialist and communist crap. I would much rather suffer a short term recession, get a real leader back in the white house, and proceed with confidence in 2024.

This is going to suck but voting for stupid hurts.

No it won't. We might end up getting another economic malaise crisis of confidence speech from democrats, putting their incompetence on full display for the world to see. Talk about a massive red pill...

No. The massive inflation created by the overspending during the Trump years is impacting prices but we're still in a standard economic cycle. I have no faith in Biden being able to fix it and Congress is unable to pass anything. But we've had worse.

We shouldn’t have spent all that COVID money.

Covid money is part of the reason we're in this mess. Trump wanted his name all over those checks... well now he's gotten his name on this economy.

That being said, I don't think it's that bad at all compared to previous recessions.

Well, if Trump timed all those problem to hit the moment Biden stepped into office, he is a fricken political genius, so we better hope he backs the MAGA train back up so we can all hitch a ride in 2024. This current administration is many times worse than anything we saw during Trump's time. The only thing that comes close is the Chicom bioweapon that you all blamed Trump for (shame on you useful idiots). Hard to imagine anyone would even bother putting any effort at all into deflecting from the incompetence of this current administration/abomination. Do they pay you well for this service???

*Exhumes the ghost of Carter*

*Spoiler Alert: Carter ain't deceased, but his political career died a long time ago - and Brandon dutifully follows in his footsteps.

If Congress had passed that 5 trillion dollar spending package inflation would be worse. The economy is juiced but productivity isn’t keeping up with demand, if workforce participation isn’t fixed the market will force it to be fixed ie. having to work or work more to maintain your standard of living. There are good things that come out of a recession, like people who were previously priced out of the market can invest with upside, resources get reallocated in a better manner, things really matter stay funded. Inflationary recession is a new one though, they’ve historically been deflationary but there’s too much capital in circulation.
