While I understand the harsh response because of her antics of how terrible America is, she is getting a taste of what a real terrible regime is. She's lucky she didn't get caught in a Muslim country where being Gay and carrying drugs can lead to much harsher punishments.

Well, recent news shows we didn't realize the two governments had been negotiating for months already anyway, so who knows what will happen? I think if I were the government (and I AM the government) I'd get pretty tired of folks doing stupid things in other countries and expecting me (the government) to bail them out.
I believe Biden offered to trade Nancy Pelosi and 100 cases of American vodka for Griner and Putin refused.

That seems a little vindictive, I understand you don't like her but 9 years is a pretty harsh sentence especially in a labor camp. I guess that is a reason to reoice.
I don't care for her, but 9 yrs is too much. Normally they hand out 5 yrs but I guess they want to give us a big middle finger.
5 yrs is too much in my opinion, but whatever. If she does 9 yrs that might just kill her career, not sure how old she is but as the years pack on it gets harder to get back in the game.
