I figured we could keep a running list. The scariest type of people are those that want to "ban" things and remove constitutional rights without the SLIGHTEST KNOWLEDGE of the thing they want to ban.
These people are truly a menace to a lawful society because they use emotion, not knowledge and facts, to take a heavy hand to a constitution that millions of people have died for and brilliant men created.
I'll start:
1. The 1994 "Assault Weapons Ban" banned assault weapons. FALSE.
2. "You can't kill a dozen people in a minute with a handgun." FALSE.
3. AR-15s are very powerful...too powerful for deer hunting. FALSE.
4. There are no background checks on firearms sales in many states. FALSE.
5. AR-15s are not used for hunting. FALSE.
6. "Mass shootings only happen in the USA." FALSE.
7. "Most mass shooters use AR-15s." FALSE.
What other whoppers have you seen by these people lately?

If a mass shooter brought a shotgun with even a 12 round capacity into a school, I guarantee you they'd go after the shotguns next. They can do a lot of damage when fired into a large crowd. It's a slippery slope towards having any gun with higher than 6 round capacity made illegal. Handguns are much easier to conceal anyways. You aren't concealing a shotgun or AR in a backpack.
In any case, no bans are coming, so nothing to worry about. This topic is reaching the end of it's popularity and will blow over soon now. 30 round AR magazines are dirt cheap. Every person should own at least 10, just in case the nannies try to abuse their authority. Large capacity shotguns are not super popular, but 9MM pistols generally come with 15+1 round capacity, though the magazines are not ubiquitous and interchangeable between brands and dirt cheap like AR mags are. This gives the AR an advantage pricewise.

"We need extensive background checks," although EVERY SINGLE TIME ANY U.S. CITIZEN PURCHASES A FIREARM, THE FFL IS LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO CALL THE FBI PRECISELY FOR THAT AND SHOULD ANY ISSUES ARISE, THE FFL IS THEN LEGALLY OBLIGATED NOT TO HAND OVER THE SAID FIREARM TO THE PERSON PURCHASING IT EVEN IF SAID CITIZEN HAS ALREADY PAID THE VENDOR.
People have no DAMN clue about guns and yet harp about with an arrogant, deluded, and pathetic sense of moral superiority.

...how's about the firearm having a 'mind of it's own'..as in, it wasn't that deranged wack job who smashed that fellas skull in with the hammer, it was the hammer acting on it's own accord...
My favorite is "The 2nd Amendment only applies if you're in a militia," which they trot out on a regular basis despite the SCOTUS refuting that argument soundly and the founding fathers themselves making it clear that they meant for the general public to be armed.
