She was popular because she was inoffensive and apolitical as First Lady. But if she ran, it's a very different story. She would have to stake out clear-cut policies and work with the existing Democratic party, who are unpopular enough as it is. And while she maintained an excellent facade as First Lady, she did have moments pre and post White House with decidedly controversial opinions. Once she declared a candidacy, she would be as divisive as any politician. The Republicans would easily frame her as an anointed Hillary II rather than someone accomplished on her own merits.
If Biden doesn't run, then the primary election earlier in 2024 will become hugely significant.
Who will be in it? And who will win, to go on to the Nov 2024 election? And why?
At this point, can you even imagine stepping into the voting booth on Nov. 5, 2024, and finding Joe Biden's name as the only Democrat candidate for President?
Someone who cares about our borders. Oh wait..........

She would be just fine for city council for a city with max of 30k to 50k people not state or national level.
They need a minority candidate to run, someone popular. Not Kamala, that’s for sure. Obama’s wife?
But I’d run a Black woman candidate/ Mexican male VP. Shore up those voting blocks since they already have the white liberals no matter what.
Could they win? Probably not, but they’d come closer than if they ran another 75+ year old white guy.
Hispanics are leaving the Democratic party, and with good reason. They're realizing the values from the Democratic party no longer align with theirs. They're also tired of pasty white loony Liberals that sunburn in less than 3 minutes, calling them racist and white supremacists for not believing in their causes. It's going to take a lot more than that.

It would be a lot easier for her to "bow out" with a semi-legitimate excuse that they could try and sell to the American People.
However, IF he does not end up running they need to do what they do and find someone who "Checks the right boxes". For that you have Pete Buttigieg. He would check the right box as being the first openly gay President, or even as a VP replacement.
You clearly haven't been paying attention. The Democrats and the media are saying the quiet part out loud: Sit 2024 out Joe, and enjoy retirement. They no longer have use for him, nor do they want him around anymore. He did his job - got people to have a "better than Trump" mindset to garner votes, amongst other things. He played his part in carrying out Obama's Socialist policies, that have been roided out at this point, due to the amount of radicals in their party. Joe did what he needed to do.
Pete BUTTigieg doesn't have a chance in hell. His "go drop $60K on a Tesla if you hate high gas prices" response to the public was incredibly ignorant, and tone deaf. He also felt it was more important to learn how to chest-feed while our supply chain fell apart, and basically said it can't be fixed. He was also a terrible mayor in South Bend and did nothing to fix the infrastructure in his city. People don't forget that.

So, I’m think Beto or maybe Klobuchar (she checks some minority boxes).
Yang left the Democratic party and is Independent, and has been for over a year now. He also said he wants to run again. I doubt he will have any success, but at least he's aware of what his party has become. Tulsi would be a great choice, but sadly the media has painted her as a Russian stooge. The only recognition Beto "Bozo" O'Rourke has, is looking like a complete ass for that political campaign stunt, when he tried storming the stage at the conference Governor Abbott and the Mayor of Uvalde held for the victims of the shooting incident. He'll fizzle out like he always does.

Nope, per my response above: Pete BUTTigieg doesn't have a chance in hell. His "go drop $60K on a Tesla if you hate high gas prices" was incredibly ignorant, and tone deaf. Why would you want her to run? She cause more harm than good. All of her programs and ideas during the Obama administration failed. We tossed enough "healthy food" out in all schools across the US due to her "ideas" as it was. We don't need someone in office to make our current food shortage worse. Nor do we need someone who's going to constantly cop an attitude for the smallest amount of bad press. She's too emotional and unqualified for the role.

Whackadoodle! Michelle Obama? Hell no, she will continue to race war, just as her husband started it.
