He must be waiting for the wind to blow his way.

"On May 11, 2021, the U.S. government issued the final federal approval for the Vineyard Wind project, a utility-scale wind farm that has been over a decade in the planning. The wind farm’s developers plan to install 62 giant turbines in the Atlantic Ocean about 15 miles off Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, with enough capacity to power 400,000 homes with clean energy."

Not really anything to do with being rich - it is the hypocrisy of the politics of pushing for green energy for everyone else while putting in infrastructure to subvert it for themselves. I have no issue with a anybody, rich or poor, putting in these tanks but don't act like everyone else needs to move away from this type of energy while making plans to keep using it well into the future. Essentially no conservatives were pushing for green energy so not even close to hypocrisy for them.

Currently, more than 50 cities in CA have already banned gas appliances with LA being the latest - so no gas stoves, water heaters, furnaces, or clothes dryers in new homes. This is part of preparations that the Biden administration has to distribute billions of dollars in federal funds to helping with the switch from gas to electric appliances.

Default Obama is a fraud.

Here in Maine, the push has been to get away from propane, heating oil (many homes use heating oil), and natural gas. A few communities are trying to start community owned solar farms, but it is very costly right out of the gate and many don't see any savings for decades.

We replaced everything that was propane in our home--energy-efficient heat pump (it's amazing!), a super woodstove, and an induction cooking range/oven. No more gas range, because liberals have preached that propane is bad. Liberals have been pushing to reduce access to natural gas, oil pipelines, while pushing the CMP "Green Energy Corridor" to deliver hydroelectric power from Quebec to Massachusetts, running their lines through Maine (read up on that crooked scheme if you have time; Vermont and New Hampshire refused permission, and it was pushed onto Maine).

Now Obama has giant propane tanks installed on his Martha's Vineyard estate.....isn't that a surprise?! We are supposed to quit the propane habit, but he buys a home on an elite island in Massachusetts and installs massive propane tanks. To most Americans, Obama and Michelle are entitled, privileged, and elitist.

Obama and his elitist liberal team (Susan Rice, Nancy Pelosi, etc.) do not want what is best for American citizens. But they definitely will look out for their own personal interests. Rules are for the little people, but not for them.

What I do not understand about this controversy is criticizing anybody's energy use when we have no clue what any household does to reduce their footprint.

And BTW there is plenty of drilling going on. The problem is refinery capacity. Nobody is building new ones or updating old ones Check it out.

Comments like the following are spinning/deflecting away from the crux of the matter, which is the hypocrisy of a progressive liberal who lives differently than what he preaches the rest of us to do:

Why do you have a problem with an exPresident making money after leaving office? Do you think they should live in poverty?
Just what kind of job would you approve of for an exPresident to earn a living?

Obama is a pontificating liar with no tangible skills. He's the one who said "You didn't build that" to business owners, correct? What has Obama been? A divisive hypocrite.

I think at least half of rural America uses propane, for many people it's the cheapest, cleanest, and most convenient fuel. Not elitist at all.

Not correct - You are not looking to reduce your household's footprint by putting in a huge reserve to use on just a barbeque - get serious, this is only to continue the major use of gas for appliances.

If you look at the drilling reports at eia.gov - completed wells bottomed out at near zero recently and ongoing drilling in the US has been cut in half from what it was in early 2020, just after Biden took over - new drilling starts have essentially been halted as approvals dry up. EIA reports that "the number of wells drilled and the number of wells completed... remain at historically low levels."

Also no one is looking to build new refineries or updating old ones because of the stated policies from the Biden admin - the last refinery was built in 2018/19 under Trump. The litigation from environmentalists has drastically reduced new refining proposed also - only 5 of the 129 currently in use were built in the last 20 years, all in TX, and only 10 in the last 40 years and all were small with less than 50K bpd capacity - most current refineries are over 50 years old and the last large refinery was built in 1977.

As far as adding capacity, some 1 million bpd of refinery capacity has been lost since 2020, as demand was reduced due to the pandemic, refiners opted to close facilities or convert into biofuel production rather than pay for expensive upgrades to meet updated standards for gas production. There is additional capacity that has been approved coming online by next year to replace about 1/3 of the loss but that doesn't help the current situation - the operational refineries are essentially at full capacity currently.
