It's difficult to avoid crowds if you visit cities. Actually, I went to a national forest this weekend. I had no idea it would be so crowded. Not even rain kept people away. I went to the national forest alone while alot of people went in packs. While I did not see any rowdy behavior, I did spend time avoiding crowds.
Yeah, I've had my fill of cities at this point — spent a lot of time in them growing up or working in PA/MD/NY/NJ. Perhaps for a special dining occasion or select event, but that's about it at this point insofar as recreation is concerned. We have a lot of trails, parks, springs, and forest sites here so we do that stuff regularly. There are some public recreation places that we avoid due to the frequency of bad behavior. The weirdest thing for me since we've moved here was having to shoot a sick bear that wandered into a State Park restroom I was using after a hike, which was quite the experience.
I went to Rocky Mountain National Park the Summer prior to Covid, no drama there
Seems to me Summertime in warm climates near water, be it a beach or a big lake or something, tends to bring out the idiocy in people. I've been on a few cruises in the Wintertime and even the college-aged party kids are pretty calm and reserved on those trips.
So you’re not as anti-authoritarian as advertised.
I'm more anti-authority at a macro level, but prefer a bit more order at a micro level. I respect that those who are impulsive and take risks bring a lot of benefit to society, even if I'm not wired that way personally.
HOA's are a micro level of control on a chaotic society, and that's fine by me. I suppose a lot of the libbies who believe in open borders have a similar philosophy, except I don't believe in open borders either... so I'm not as anti-authoritarian I guess... what would a pure anarchist believe? Anyone can do anything? At some point humans need to be controlled.
There's the US level of control, a nice happy medium, or a Chinese level of control... conditioned to be robotic drones assimilated into the CCP collective.
I would ban sale of residential real estate to corporations and limit total home ownership to 3 homes per person, and ban sale of land to foreign countries also. I guess I have my authoritarian moments.
Trash is trash. Nice people don't behave that way.
Humans beings are not trash. They behaved badly this day, that's all. Maybe having that on the internet taught them a lesson.
