Guys, it is probably INCORRECT to say he declassified the documents.
He had the absolute right to do so for national security issues. I don't for one second think he actually did declassify documents, but he definitely had the right.
But it's also incorrect to say that there's no room for doubt. Paperwork mistakes happen all the time, and it would be difficult to say that there wasn't a bureaucratic error in implementing his intent.
What this will come down to is whether Trump declassified the documents and who actually removed the documents (for liability purposes). I don't even know the process for the president to formally declassify documents. Is it a simple "they are declassified" statement or is something more required? I don't know. I've seen procedures for general original classification authorities to declassify documents, but never for the president.

Trump did not personally remove anything. Take it up with his staff. Trump has a secret clearance. He can review/store whatever he wants as long as the are kept under lock and key.
So if Trump declassified the documents by divine right then they are now not classified and this secret information that he stole when he left should be in the public domain. I think we need another Trump inspired law that the president does not have the authority to declassify documents on whim - establishes procedures and a review process. Obviously, bad actors might abuse such power.
