Catherine Leavy, 37, of Westfield, MA was arrested Thursday in connection with a bomb threat hoax made against the Boston Children's Hospital on August 30. Leavy supposedly made the threat because the hospital treats transgender youth.
In recent weeks, the hospital has been the target of anti-LGBTQ+, far-right harassment, including debunked claims about its treatment of transgender youth, and graphic language posted online by an extremist campaign using the handle Libs of TikTok, claiming that the hospital offers complex gender affirmation surgery to minors.
Leavy at first denied making the threat when questioned by the FBI. She however later admitted making the call once she was supplied evidence that it was made via her cell phone and was played the recording with her voice. She then went on to complain about the hospital in her interview.
A woman by Leavy's name and address has made some 200 contributions to Trump and Republican pacs. A person matching her ID had also made many posts supporting them on her Facebook page. This Facebook page also had a post that indicated that her family has tried to have her committed.
Obviously the wrong way to protest against anything.
As for transgender treatments, I would leave that to the lawyers, as the lawyers on both sides of the Atlantic are going to be busy, with the closure of London's Tavistock clinic just a foretaste of what is to come.
The Tavistock Clinic is now the subject of a massive class action involving over one thousand families, and staff turn over in such clinics is high, as they are well aware of the legal cases and controversy.

Politics has nothing to do with this. Calling in a bomb threat is against the law and she should be held accountable for her actions. Use the justice system for what it was made for and deal with this person. If she is mentally ill, commit her or get her on meds that work. But you can't force people to take meds. Sometimes they don't and they go berserk and you've got the same problem happening over and over again. This country should be taking the issue of mental illness more seriously.

I haven't seen any details at all about this "Catherine" or "Katherine" Leavy. Just name, age, and town.
No photo, no mug shot, no tweets, no FB page quotes, no motive, no history, no interviews of friends, relatives, neighbors. Nothing. It's like she doesn't exist.
