Scott Adams doesn't need their money and he's been quite outspoken against the left and woke culture long before now.
The newspaper as a genre is dead already, it just doesn't know it yet. All this "controversy" does is remind people that Dilbert still exists and can likely be found at Adam's own website, soon if not already. I don't honestly know.
A couple of the "offensive" strips were actually quite clever.
A gay friend of mine linked the better shirts one on FB. He thought it was funny. Of course he does not count. He is gay, but married to another CISGENDER (booo!) gay dude and a Republican! (BOOOOOO!)
It's a financial decision. He can do whatecer what he wants, unless he cuts his 'fee' for putting the comic in the paper...doesn't matter.
Like in real life, often there is more than one factor causing something. He can be both too expensive for a paper and getting criticized.
As someone that has read these recent strips, they're pretty funny and are not mocking the diversity of workers but rather corporate management trying to "game the system" as well as a variety of ESG rating organizations willing to give your score a nudge if you pay enough. (I think they call it the Al Sharpton special )

I read them, too, and I agree he was digging more at corporate management than the whole ESG movement. But again, 24 out of 34 strips were dropped. I highly doubt Snuffy Smith was in any way controversial, yet it, too, was dropped. This was a financial decision. Adams is just trying to make himself a victim.
So to be clear, 24 comic strips were cut but somehow Scott Adams is being singled out?
Sure, because Dilbert was funny as all heck and the others all suck! Seriously.
