Most thought provoking post of the thread so far, and I tend to agree....with qualifications that would consume many pages. In the case of Tucker, though he is excellent at what he does, I'm not sure we even know what he stands for or wants to be when he grows up.

So I'll just say DeSantis, though a good man, is too conventional. Far too easy to see him 10 years hence as a cog in the giant political machine that abandoned the interests of average, normal Americans years ago. We need someone angrier about the destructive havoc wreaked upon our once great nation by the radical left.

If there is to be an American restoration of real freedom and the great dreams we once had....the freedom and dreams that those of us in our retirement years remember well, we will have one man to thank for its initiation and its leadership. Donald Trump. Never would have happened without the extraordinary courage that it took to stand up to the corrupt national media which has run the country - in reverse - for 30 years.

Like most Americans old enough to know and understand our roots, Trump is angry. Whether American restoration will, in fact, really happen remains far from certain. But what IS very certain is that it will never be accomplished through adherence to politeness and good manners.

Yes, those are all respect worthy names. But they all work in the shadow of Trump's political courage.

The only one who didn't seem to do a good job was Governor Abbot in TX after Harvey.
What are you talking about? Gov. Abbott did fine in Harvey.

Trump especially in his desperation to remain relevant. We need younger blood in the office. But DeSantis recent political stunt doesnt sit well, luring them onto planes with the promise of jobs and a place to stay regardless of what state you send them to. This moving around of immigrants is not a new thing, its been going on for years now even before Biden.
Was he wrong? Those immigrants are objectively better off in MA than being homeless in overwhelmed San Antonio.

Again, Chris Christie did the same thing when leading NJ through and during the aftermath of Sandy...he was quick to thank President Obama for his support and the support of FEMA in the aftermath...of course it was a Presidential election year and Republicans nationally crucified Christie for it...probably cost him the nomination in 16 before he became Trump's McDonald's errand boy.

Most of these governors seem to do a pretty good job through these storms...the biggest thing they can do is give precise communication to the public about what things are really like on the ground...what kind of resources are in place to help, and then allow the local officials to do the hard job of truly leading.

You know that's never going to happen, right? Not even after he's dead.

LMAO. Overly dramatic post of the day. And what 'train wreck' would that be, specifically?

They know they can't win their arguments because they have the wrong ideas to move this country truly forward so they resort to name calling...I no longer let it get under my skin.

The Commander in thief spoke to the future Commander in chief Governor DeSantis. DeSantis told him to jump to it getting aid to Florida and Brandon snapped to.
