Because the USRC is the only place on the planet that produces foodcrops.

Not really. Most Americans would do well to eat what their local/regional agriculture can produce and do everything they can to revive their local agriculture. That's the way it was through about 99% of our existence on this planet and that's the way it was when our species evolved to what it is today. Relying on food shipped in from the USRC, Chile, Peru, Mexico, China, etc, etc, is a great way to amplify a famine--not to mention that it is horribly inefficient from a resource usage point of view. The localization of many aspects of our economy (agriculture, manufacturing, etc) is the answer to many of our problems on the whole. Community and regional self-reliance is the answer.

And you know what? At one time, you leftists were the ones who actually saw this and advocated it. No more. Now you are all about centralized control, globalism, and the deemphasis of self reliance and individualism. And the form of "going green" that you advocate is as fake as a three dollar bill. In almost every instance it AMPLIFIES the problem, not solves it.

100%. Local and organic food is what we should be striving for at the moment. If you own land or have some space on your apartment balcony, start growing as much food as you can. The more self reliant and the less reliant we are on our government or other governments to supply our food chain the better!
