It is all so confusing, isn’t it? I had to read that twice myself. But basically, the rule right now is that if you were born male, you remain male as far as the Selective Service is concerned, so you must register — even if, presumably, you snipped, tucked, and put perfume on it. And if you were born female, you’re still female and don’t have to register, even if you grafted and grew a five o’clock shadow. Seems it comes down to DNA for the Selective Service.
