Well, except the Lunar Landing, which was a positive triumph that brought us together.

I don't think even a foreign attack would unite us, though, at this point. We're a nation with many inhabitants who are addicted to rage.
He wasn't just talking about uniting, he was talking about shutting up people. I see that very differently.

If it came down to me having to defend myself of course I would. Otherwise no. I would not go out on the offensive and target fellow Americans no matter what their political beliefs are. However, if it turns out that we don’t have secure voting in this country, this really is the only option left overall to most Americans. Sad but true. If you can’t vote anymore what’s left? There is no democracy. But I have no desire to go to war.

There is a foreign invasion or the perception of one at the very least. Nobody is taking up arms nor will they. This whole second amendment militia crap is puerile fantasyland. I have in the last year changed my mind in gun control. If you are a poster that would go fight, you are the person I want disarmed at this point.

Yet crime has been falling steadily for the last two decades. It's not the stuff of sound bites, so perhaps you did not realize that.

To quote Rudy Giuliani: "It's not that the people ARE less safe, it's that they FEEL less safe!"

That's what it's all about. Scare the people, make 'em feel less safe and you can control their votes ... and also get social media posts like yours as a bonus.

I wouldn’t go on any kind of offensive. I would most definitely defend my homestead, however.

My neighbor has had a flag hanging for months now, declaring that he's ready for civil war. Unfortunately, (or, fortunately for me, if I have to take him down, I guess?) he gets out of breath walking to the end of his driveway.

No, I would not "fight." I do, however, have the ability to protect myself and my family. Not the same thing, though.

Are we counting those pink beanie hats with ears? If not I'm going to go ahead and say no.

We all need to grow the F up and compromise on things that really matter: economy, violence and crime, education, energy. The end.

Tens of millions of voters prove you wrong.

Did you vote last week? For anyone that says they've lost faith in the elections system, why did you bother voting?

Good Lord ...
