Reparations for something hundreds of years ago? No one alive today was directly impacted by that. Statutes of limitations are in order

The Republican party had not yet been founded when that transpired.

So, let us start by fining Dems for what they did to our proud Native Americans first, then we can discuss what they did to the African slaves here afterwards.

Their hypocrisy smells like rotting eggs.
I get where you are going here. The dems were pretty despicable with slavery and the trail of tears. I don't like the concept of reparations period. However the native americans get lots of advantages that no one else gets. From the whole casino business to funding the reservations and government paid healthcare.

And living in 2 states with large native populations I do know this. In AZ lots of natives on reservations. The people are poor, lots of substance abuse and crime yet their basic needs are met. In Oklahoma most are in the regular population and do very well.

And the overall prison industrial complex that was used as a replacement for slavery (which is still slavery).
Go look around an entire Walmart and come back and tell us which items were made by US prison workers and what portion of US goods were sold from that system.

You seem to be regurgitating talking points from the 1960's which may not have even been remotely true at the time.

I'd personally prefer less incarceration but if you want to actually convince people you should have a better narrative in 2022.

Honestly I think a lot of white people would be okay with a one time fee of reparations if POC could never throw accusations of racism, complain about not being selected for a job anymore, no longer have AA in schools and work places. Not sure some POC would be happy if those were off the table now. Imagine Democrats not being able to use race as a tool.

LOL. Slavery ended 158 years ago. Not so far from 200 years.

They wouldn’t win another election.

One can volunteer to pay for reparations right now to the next black or NA person they see that would like reparations. If you’re black or NA and want reparations you can ask folks if they agree to reparations. If they say yes ask them for a 20.

We have in place reparations during conflicts to ' make whole' that which we destroyed. It's called reparations for a reason. We are not barbaric despite some of our egregious acts upon man and beast.
We are responsible for the deeds of the past. The Japanese internment camps being a recent example.

I am ashamed that I reside in a country that has citizens with the fu attitude in past atrocities. We lied to the native Americans. Then forced them into smaller and smaller areas of land that they naturally inhabited. We talk a great talk about protecting what is ' ours', while forcing the previous land inhabitants to acquiesce to ' our' way of government.

When we know better, we still failed.
