We need to reform our regular immigration system, so if we do need migrant workers for agriculture or other fields of work, we can quickly make them available and they are LEGAL, and we know who is coming into the country. Right now the LEGAL immigration policies are a bureaucratic nightmare.
We already have unlimited visas for AG workers and no, we don't need to import the poor, uneducated and unskilled for other low paying, menial jobs as they become a tax burden on our society.
This is just stunts because he’s thinking of running. I guarantee no one is going after their rich friends Nannie’s or landscapers, or places like Mar a Lago.
Um, Trump already uses e-verify on all of his properties including Mar a Lago.
95% of business in Florida don't have to use E-Verify. Only businesses that are contracted to provide products or services to the State of Florida goverment are required to use E-Verify.
If DeSantis was serious about illegals working in Florida, he'd push for E-Verify to be mandated by all Florida businesses.

This will be interesting. "Threatens to" being the key word here.
I think he's floating this, to see what happens, and how much push back he'll get.
My guess is, middle income homeowners will go back to doing their own yards and painting and cleaning their own houses, and landscape businesses and home renovators will go bust.
Let em go bust if they can't operate under the law!
He won't actually follow through or enforce it. Just a stunt. It would absolutely eliminate the entire crop ag industry. All those tomato field (etc)? No one to work them would be left.
Huh? There are already unlimited visas for legal, foreign crop pickers. Only 2-4% of the entire illegal population work on farms. So what do you mean there would be no one left to pick crops without illegals?
Sure, they use scam employment agencies. No news there. Meat processing plants do the same. When I was living near Henderson KY there was a sham employment agency that used undcoumented immigrants to staff a giant Tyson plant. Tyson would never be touched, and if they shut down the employment agency another would open tomorrow and hire the same people and doctor the same paperwork. This country needs these undocumented immigrants to keep operating, and to do so at prices people will pay.
No such thing as an "undocumented" they are illegal aliens. We are a nation of laws and no we don't need illegals for anything. If a business can't or won't operate within the law then they need to go out of business! These greedy employers don't pass any savings onto the consumer anyway they just pocket the profits from their cheap, illegal workers while passing their enormous social costs onto the taxpayer!
