I have a hard time coming to grips with the vast majority of police officers are just waiting for the chance to beat the living crap out of someone who is not putting up a fight while being arrested.

The reality is that people don't want to be arrested. Some will go peacefully others will put up a fight. Those that choose to put up a fight can expect whatever force is necessary to subdue them. Why put up a fight? More than likely they're gonna' get you anyway and additional charges will most certainly be filed. Go peacefully and you'll be cuffed put in the back of a squad car, taken to the police station where charges will formally be filed. Then you'll have your day in court.

None of your post has anything to do with this particular incident. 5 Police officers brutally beat a man to death in an incident over a traffic infraction. You don't even have the details but here you are generalizing and insinuating there was a reason for their actions.

I'm generally pro-police as society would plunge into chaos within a couple of days without them. IMO there are several issues with cops.

1. Like every profession 10-15% are burnouts, unhinged or just plain ill fit for the job.

2. Unlike very profession cops, especially big city cops, deal with scum bags, violent criminals, liars, drug addicts all day everyday and even "good" people are often at their worst when dealing with cops.

3. Unlike most other professions cops, in virtually all cases, must carry firearms and are known to be armed up that implies a constant level of stress that most people never deal with.

Aggravated kidnapping????

That would imply their detainment was unlawful. Nothing I’ve seen described seems to paint an unlawful detainment scenario.

Makes me question the validity of the entire narrative laid out for us.

I'd ease off on that. The quote from the TBI chief makes is quite clear this was a gross set of offenses.

Where's all the Blue Lives Matter people? If the cops were white we would see an outpouring of support for the cops.

All 5 cops charged with a crime in record time, typically it's months or years before cops are charged.

I know it is hard not to try and compare black vs. white...but -- and we will know more after seeing the video, Apparently the video is damning and there is no doubt and what the officers did was horrific. If you listen to how the Memphis officials/CHief of Police, etc. are talking, they are not mincing their words with regards to the brutality of the attack on the guy.

The video may provide a better picture why they were so quick and so definitive in their charges of these officers.

This story will die quickly... the cops are the wrong color.
Black officers? Yikes, that doesn't fit the woke narrative.

Officers, of all race, are going to beat you down if you push them to their limit. Nothing is going change reality.

I side with the officer 99% of the time, because they have to deal with this stuff daily.
