These three sites are as sacred to Russia as Arlington Cemetery with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers and the Iwo Jima memorial is to the USA.

Tens of thousands of fallen Red Army soldiers from the 1945 Battle for Berlin are buried are the second and third monuments. Russia would never destroy the remains of and the memorials to their own fallen soldiers from WW2. Not to mention the tens of thousands of Russian citizens that currently call Berlin home.
I dunno. Take a look at the streetview of the memorial to the Russians that stopped the advance of the Germans in Moscow in 1941. Its in bad shape between a highway and an access road to an Ikea.

The Doomsday clock was a big deal for the US media when Trump was president. Right now it's as close to midnight as it's ever been, but where is the MSM?

The German foreign minister literally used the phrase "we are at war with Russia." Meanwhile Russian leaders are saying that their country faces an existential threat from NATO and will use anything to survive.

Our leaders are senile morons blundering us blindly into a possible nuclear war.

Putting aside the fact that this has become a de-facto war between NATO and Russia with nations like Germany acting as co-belligerents, just because Ukraine receives Leopard tanks doesn't mean much of anything. Turkey purchased a number of these and put them to use in their conflict in Syria. Guess what? They were destroyed by ISIS militants. Besides that it's not simply a matter of sending these tanks to Ukraine. Who's going to operate them? How well trained are they? How long will the training take? Who's going to maintain them in a high intensity conflict where things are breaking down all the time? Parts and materials needed to maintain these vehicles don't just materialise from nothing and mind you over 100 billion dollars worth of aid has been provided to Ukraine already. The same can be said for the British tanks being sent.

Frankly this is just another instance of over intensive bravado from someone who is likely irked at the slow methodical proceduralism being employed by the Russian forces instead of the high intensity scorched earth method that we saw America use in Desert Storm.

Russia is shaking in its boots and scared! First, they say tanks are no problem and they’ll all burn soon. And now they’re calling it a major escalation and threatening Germany territory as a target.

They’re just as bad as North Korea with the whiny threats that amount to nothing.

Let me be cold-blooded logical.

1) It sends a message as to whose gear works and whose doesn't. That gives us clout and allows us to sell our stuff and the opposite for the Russians.

2) We get to test stuff out in live combat paid with someone elses blood.

3) It gives Russia pause after letting them just snatch the Crimea. This sends a message to other countries too. (See China)

In short, even if one gives zero poops about Ukraine it can be in our self interests to do what we're doing.

P.S. Tired of hearing about "Ukraine is racist"...eastern europe is racist, China is racist, Africa is racist....so what?
Hear, Hear.

Recall the Red/Z-boosters telling us the war would be over in 6 or 8 weeks, US war materiel is no good, Ukrainians lack the zest for a real fight, the Reds/Z have the best soldiers and tactics etc. etc. etc.

And reality shows an army gutted in the middle with very few lifer-NCO types, less than 6 mos. in they were recalling patriots and heroes like the 600lb. general officer whom they must have brought in by rail or barge, regular conscripts with nearly no training, convict conscripts who are simply sacrificed, planes they won't/cannot fly etc. etc. And they keep making idiotic mistakes like bedding down conscripts next to ammo dumps etc.

In closing I'm tired of the, "The Ukrainians are racist"............neo-NAZI sympathizers or actual Neo-NAZIs etc. etc. as well. As if the Russians have a history as great humanitarians.

Putin’s bluff has already been called. The US and many other nations are openly supporting and supplying Ukraine. Regardless of how you feel about Ukraine or anyone supporting them or Russia, it’s pretty clear at this point that Russia is unwilling and unable to pull any other countries directly into this conflict.

It's not that simple. The USA just accused China's state owned corporations of selling non lethal equipment to Russia that is being used in their war effort. Iran is selling drones to Russia that are being used to inflict causalities on Ukraine. North Korea is supposedly selling some weapons to Russia. This is an east vs west affair. While the east is not supplying troops that we know of (other than perhaps paid mercenaries) the west is hesitant to put boots on the ground in support of Ukraine just the same.

The east is going their own way. The folks who wanted the west to be more isolated are getting their wish, if only Russia would stop trying to encroach on our side of the turf.

Your speech per Turkey pertains to the old baseline Leopard 2A4 (rolled out in the '70s or maybe early '80s). The Ukrainians will receive much newer units.

ETA - I looked it up the first 2A4 was built in 1979 the last in 1992.

ETA II - The Germans have green-lighted other countries to ship Leopards to Ukraine (Canada in particular).
