We really only hear about the school shootings but people do cite the mass shooting numbers.
Most of the others though, don't make the national news, no matter how heart breaking.
So, in the interest of education let's just keep a running thread on this, I'm going to start this week where there are 3 so far.
Sunday -Orlando. "Guys with beef" per the Grandma arguing with guy on sidewalk, stray gunfire hits easter egg hunt people. Poor lady, and she doesn't want to go on camera out of fear of the shooters.
Heck in one incident in Chicago this weekend the Police were called to a street because there was a group of guys with guns. The cops arrived the guys ran but not before a couple of them shot at the Police. Luckily no one was injured. There is just no fear these days and the criminals are becoming more brazen.
For years they have been telling us that Black Lives Matter but they do not seem to matter to other Black people and that is sad for in many ways they are their own worse enemy.
Our Elected could prevent much of this senseless loss of life by locking up the criminals that use guns in their crimes. That would be a huge start. Instead our Elected are looking to disarm the average citizen so they will be defenseless against the Thugs. Bring back stop and frisk and make the laws so that they cannot be plea bargained away. It is far too easy for these wanna be gangstas to pull their guns and open up. The problem is they are lousy shots and they often hit innocent bystanders.
If those that carry and use guns were locked up they couldn't shoot anyone. If the Thugs actually feared the Police and being caught with an illegal gun they might think twice before carrying that gun which means they could not pull it and go to work over the slightest of put downs. The life they do not take could actually be their own.
We can get a handle on all of this gun violence by first locking up those that use their illegal guns in crimes.

Good point, we've had people try to change it before. We already have one temporary poster trying to asterisk the majority of the mass shootings and just focus on the half dozen a year that are "bad".
That's a really key point, people want to cite statistics about all shootings but they only want to talk about the tiny % that fit their agenda and proposed solutions.
I've come to the conclusion that to the left and the anti-gun activists that Mass Shootings are like the hot girl in a skimpy outfit who acts as the Magicians assistant. They are the distraction which allows the Magician to do their tricks. Meaning all the focus on Mass Shootings which while terrible are only a very small amount of gun deaths yet so much effort is spent focused on them that we ignore the real plague of gun shootings caused by inner city murders, often by repeat offenders, who are let out over and over again my left leaning DA's.
You know just ignore all those shootings that are caused by our bad policies and lookie, lookie over here at the girl in the skimpy outfit(the dramatic Mass shootings)

The anti-gun crowd tries to have it both ways. They say mass shooters are predominantly white men but then spout off the 1 mass shooting per day statistic based on the FBI definition 'any incident in which at least four people are murdered with a gun", in which case the vast majority of "mass shooters" are minorities (mainly black or hispanic). But that doesn't fit the narrative

This is exactly it. And too many anti gun individuals are blind to this. The politician's also use the mass shooting to target a semi auto rifle that is rarely used. Politicians and the media have built up so much disinformation about this particular rifle that if and when they get another ban to pass, the anti gunners and Democratic followers will rejoice, thinking their party actually did something and it will end gun violence.
It has to be the only way to explain why there is so much hyper focus on mass shootings, while suicides which make up over 50% of gun deaths, and then the nightly shootings that happen in our cities , the majority of which handguns are used seem to get ignored. It really is bizarre, although that seems to be the modus operandi of this administration.
The media helps lead the masses as well. Look at the last three mass shootings. MSU, TN, KY.
The MSU and TN shootings are already out of our news cycle. I'm willing to bet it's because MSU used a handgun, one that he shouldn't have been able to purchase legally, except for a DA reduced a prior gun related charge down from felony to a misdemeanor. The TN shooting is out because it was a member of one of the "protected" groups that did it, and no AR was used.
The KY shooting was committed by a young white male, which did use an AR. The media and the politicians will be milking everything they can out of this one. It falls right into this administrations agenda to distract everyone from where the major issues are in our country.
