So much living in fear, yet so much defending and enabling criminals who will always have access to guns, and let’s not forget how easily they’re made. Banning 3D printers will be next. I’m surprised folks with this mindset actually leave their living quarters. Thankfully there’s so many WFH opportunities that so many folks won’t have to, including those that no longer have to work.
It was a concern when there is no standing army as was the case in the 1800's. We don't need it today.
If you were designing a constitution today you would of course want free speech, equality and others. No one in their right mind would ask for a second amendment. This is 2023 not 1871.

If you were building up a newly formed nation you wouldn't include a second amendment, we live in the past.
We are not getting rid of the guns. We need to get rid of the reasons people use them for harm. 100 million gun owners. 20,000 gun deaths. Seems like the problem is not that people own guns.
79,950,000 American gun owners have never shot and killed anyone. Doing the math for you, that is 99.5% of all American gun owners.
All that you need, to do major harm is the remaining .5% armed with AR style rifle's chambered in .223. Powerful, accurate, holds lots of rounds and has very little recoil to stay on target. The NRA wants them to be easily obtainable, their money buys that. And at what cost. Just after a recent shooting, a day or so later they had a convention. Who was the guest speaker, Trump. Just the fact that he was there speaks volumes, and you know what group he is speaking to.
In the past I've owned 3 of them. Along with several AK's and an HK-91. The public should NOT have access to these. The 2nd Amendment should have limits.

It's just a semi auto rifle. It's perfect for us individuals that want something more than a .22 but don't need anything as powerful as a true hunting rifle.
