Pride celebrations do not help, but actually hurt, the cause to become a cultural norm. If that's what they are seeking.
FYI, the purpose of Q is expressly "anti-normative", that's the whole identity, an "identity without an essence" as they are defined in academic literature.
The Q's do not want Pete Buttiegeg's, they do not want a normal type gay couple with kids in a nice clean house and steady careers. That kind of normal is the oppressor in their woke-Marxist worldview
The LGB's are starting to catch on that it's not in their best interest to keep associating with the TQ+, just like the feminists are starting to part ways with the TQ+, and just like the Muslims are starting to part with ALL of the SJW groups

Pride is political in origin, and is the celebration of a civil rights movement. People marched originally in solidarity with those arrested in the Stonewall riots in NYC in 1969.
In June 1978, the Gay Rights Alliance put out a call for gay persons worldwide to march in protest of California Prop 6, a ballot initiative to ban (and fire) gay and lesbian teachers from California schools.
This is what kicked off the first Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in Sydney. Many people (not all gay) who marched in that (permitted) parade were arrested and severely beaten by police. They had their names published in the newspaper the next day, and many lost their jobs, their housing, and committed suicide.
However, they came back the next year and have marched every year since, and along with the glitter and costumes, political causes (AIDS treatment, gay marriage) are often at the forefront.
Pride is celebrated in many countries, originating from the Stonewall riots, widely marked as the beginning of the civil rights movement for gay, lesbian and transgender people.
In Sydney, the original “1978ers” and the police march (well, dance now) in the same parade, together, and that is why people march, at its core.
Pride is not just about rainbow onesies in Target, it’s a celebration of a hard won right to peacefully and visibly assemble in public, without fear of prosecution purely because of your sexual orientation.
I would agree that it’s far eclipsed mere recognition. Recognition would be great! Hey congrats! End of conversation!
But no! Pride month and the entire LGBQ+ movement has been weaponized by design. The oligarchs want to dismantle America and the primary method of choice is DIVISION. Remember that word…division.
You have a guy like Soros who is a huge player in WEF/New World Order movement pouring millions of dollars into Pride and LGBQ campaigns because it divides Americans. Do you think for a second, Soros gives two hoots about Pride or LGBQ? No! He is funding division!!! That is his weapon of destruction and guess what? It works!
Only problem is only half of the country recognizes what is happening! The leftists are so ultra polarized on their causes, they don’t care 1) where the support money comes from or 2) their cause has turned into a weapon because their cause is being validated.
At what point in time do the leftists stop accepting what is essentially BLOOD MONEY from the devil and be content with mere recognition?

They CAN look that way. They don’t all do that anymore, particularly since it’s hit the mainstream in the last decade or so. It used to be a lot more punk, sort of a “we’re *****, we’re here, and we’re in your ear” thing, and it was arguably necessary just to be noticed and counted. Now, it’s not so necessary and it’s not the penis, leather, and sex toy land that it used to be. It’s entered mainstream the way that accepting other races or maybe some other holidays has. But if you want to talk about perhaps a bit of outsize representation now, I won’t entirely disagree, as I see that in other representation fights I’m not as intimately associated with, and I can see where that’s a blind spot for all of it.
