1660? Not sure if you're European, but we can all of us find a timeframe where our great-great-great etc. grandfathers were at each others' throats. Most of us had sort of hoped to be over that, but Russia just had to roll 3000 tanks into Ukraine and here we are.

Their carriers is not the concern, it's the nuclear submarines. They are silent, hard to detect and very dangerous. If you think the peasants in Vietnam or the cave people in Afghanistan were a problem, the U.S. never face anything like the Russian nuclear sub attack.

Do you know what is the #1 threat to our carriers and Fleet? A nuclear sub. All it takes is 1 sub and 1 hit.

It's official - Sweden is in NATO. Who cares about neutrality when you have a dictator next door who cares nothing about human life. The misery Russians have to live in due to some idiot running everything.

Sweden officially joined NATO as its 32nd member on Thursday, almost two years after first applying to the military alliance.

Earlier on Thursday, the Swedish government said in a statement it was holding an extraordinary meeting to vote on joining NATO after all current members had approved its accession to the military alliance.

The news was then confirmed later Thursday with a statement from NATO, with Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg saying the country was “taking its rightful place at our table.”

“Sweden’s accession makes NATO stronger, Sweden safer, and the whole Alliance more secure. I look forward to raising their flag at NATO HQ on Monday,” he added.

If those subs are maintained as well as the rest of the Russian navy, well...

In the context of Sweden, it seems pretty certain that Sweden won't be invaded by submarine. OK, there was that one incident in 1981 where several aggressive Swedish rocks attacked a peaceful Soviet sub that was just minding its own business deep inside Swedish waters.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_submarine_S-363

For all of the comedic aspects of that situation (and there were quite a few), it's noticeable that when the Swedes genuinely thought the fur was about to start flying for real, the order was simple: "Hold the border".

(The incident also made all of the Moscow-funded "peace movements" in Europe shut up for a while, which was a blessing.)

It sounds like there are Russian boots on Swedish soil.

In fact, the opposite is correct.
Swedish tanks kill Russians and Ukrainians. Soon, Swedish planes will join.

You want to find out how lethal their subs at the other end.

You think invasion by land is going to come first or at all in a war? Russia doesn't have to invade to destroy Sweden's economy. Sweden is surrounding by the Baltic Sea, North Sea and Norwegian Sea with lots of ports and ships. Maritime commerce is a huge part of Sweden's economy. You destroy that and they are done. No Volvos, No wood, no edication and the rest they export will be very hard to come out and worse, hardly anything will come in.

The only country with the anti-sub force to deal with Russia is the U.S. and even the U.S. will have a hard time in the long run because they will just keep on coming. 58 Nuclear Subs and 11 nuclear ballistic subs.

So Russia is not losing sleep with Sweden joining NATO. All We are doing is adding more weight to our foreign policy of endless wars and putting the interest of foreign countries above Americans and push for a weapon race build up while a few get very rich here and Europe.

They selected that idiot to run everything. He’s been in that position for over 20 years and no inside security detail dared to take him out despite having the chance to 24/7. Same for North Korea.

If there is no coup or revolution, then the country gets what they want: dictatorship.

Well, I think the world came extremely close to experimentally testing that 60 something years ago. According to some accounts, only a rather lucky chain of events prevented a launch.

Me, I always preferred theory to experiment in cases like that..

I think you should do some research why Finland and Sweden finally decided to abandon neutrality. Hint, it was not the actions of the United States, it was the imperialistic actions of a large European country. You could call it Europe's last Empire. The World's largest Empire in fact. But apparently still not large enough.
