The Democrat St Louis Mayor wants to hold business owners accountable for crime on or near their property. She cites convenience stores and gas stations.

So she wouldn't mind if these businesses hire armed guards with fully automatic weapons standing at the door?

Also: Chicago was trying to force businesses to hire private security.

We live in interesting times.

This is an older issue Philadelphia politicians got upset when store owners wanted to put bullet proof glass in their stores and wanted to ban the practice.

https://www.mrctv.org/blog/philly-ci...-inside-stores

It seems these mayors don't want to admit their residents commit crime and are criminals. They want to play the victim with crime being somebody else's fault.

I think they're one of the cities that want to blame car makers for making cars easy to steal. But who ever steals those cars are CRIMINALs. It's blame shifting in the defund the police era.

What should happen, then, is that every gas station and convenience store should shut down citywide until the mayor reconsiders her idiocy. See how long the city could actually function that way. It's very hard to understand how people can be so stupid these days. It's astounding what some of these morons spit up. That mayor should be committed to the nearest insane asylum.

In what world has there ever been no criminals? Yes, nothing you own should ever get stolen...and that will be the case in Fantasy Land. We live in the real world. If we are going to fight crime, doesn't it make sense to make manufacturers part of the effort of PREVENTING it? Never heard "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?" We mandate other types of safety measures in cars. It isn't blame, it is just common sense. And, by the way, there are over 300 police officer vacancies in St. Louis, so this is NOT a case of "defunding," but, reportedly, a recruiting/retirement problem. That is an issue that needs to be addressed, but it is not "defunding." Haven't you learned yet that defunding, for the most part, never happened?

What is it with these Dems that blame everything BUT those responsible?

It is a small percentage of punks that are doing the crimes so arrest them and lock them up.

Why is this concept so foreign to these elected Boobs? If someone does the crime they should do the time. When others see that Law and Order is making a comeback they might think twice before committing a crime. Today the punks don't care because they know that if they are caught not much will happen to them.

It is Blame Shifting. Of course if the stores are forced to close due to rampant crime then they will be blamed for creating a food desert.

It isn't racist to lock up the criminals.

How do these dem mayors keep getting re-elected??????????????????????????????????

Who are these voters and how can they outnumber the conscious voters in both parties who oppose such idiocy???

The mayor reflects the voters' ethics and beliefs.
