More to the story, he is living with his sister-in-law. Sure sounds like his residence is plant for appearance, shouldn't a politician be registered and live a majority of time in the state he is running. He purchased the home in Michigan in 2023, sure sounds like he was living in Florida.
Carpetbagging is never alright, go start a thread on Clinton.
and while we are on this, Joe Biden keeps telling us he was a black jewish truck driving pilot from scranton, but in reality moved away at age 10 and spend the next 70 years in DE. Was he REALLY raised in scranton pa? are we considered raised by age 10?
at the very least his 'raising' did not include lessons on truthfulness but that is another thread.
and since we worry so much, AOC. AOC has not been in her district for more than 2 hours at a time in **3** years. is THAT a problem? (prior to that there is evidence she spent a couple nights there, but since election has been a 99.9% DC resident.)
And then there's Senate candidate and current MD 6th District Congressman David Trone who doesn't live in the district, nor did his predecessor John Delaney whose wife in now running for the seat.
Maybe its time for us to elect regular folks not really wealthy ones. People that have one home and just one average home and not an extra one worth $16M in another state. Then this whole carpet bagger stuff will go away. And then we will have politicians who really get regular Americans because that is who they are. Not pretend to care just to get your votes.
Just reading through this thread is a laugh. My wealthy political hack from another state is better than your wealthy political hack from another state!
Tim Sheehy is another one, good worth $75-$200M running against Tester in Montana who only has a few million but at least he is a resident or appears to be.
Weird story about him accidentally discharging his gun in Glacier Park, Sheehy indicated to the park ranger that he shot himself, goes to the hospital then later claims it was to cover for an unreported gunshot wound when he was serving overseas. Now why would he cover up a combat wound?
Pure gold
Quote:
Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy apologized and asked for leniency in 2015 after he said a gun he kept in his vehicle for bear protection fell and discharged, striking him in his right forearm in Glacier National Park, according to National Park Service documents newly released through a Freedom of Information Act request.
“As a highly trained and combat experienced wounded veteran, I can assure you this was an unfortunate accident and we are grateful no other persons or property were damaged,” Sheehy, a former Navy SEAL, said in the 2015 statement apologizing for illegally discharging his weapon in the park. “Due to my ongoing security clearance and involvement with national defense related contracts, I request leniency with any charges related to this unfortunate accident.”
Sheehy, who has told voters he has a bullet in his arm from his time serving in Afghanistan, told The Post he made up the 2015 accidental gunshot story on that October day to cover up a wound he says he received in a 2012 firefight in Afghanistan.

Nah, I've gotta side with Michigan Moon on this one.
Mike Rogers was born and raised in Michigan and held public office representing a Michigan constituency for about 20 years prior to his leaving the state when he decided in 2014 to not seek an 8th term in Michigan's 8th district for the US House.
Kind of hard to hang a carpet bag on the crook of his arm the way one can do for either Mehmet Oz or Hilary Clinton.
Dr Oz was a terrible candidate, lived in New Jersey, McCormack lost to him in the primary. McCormack has a residence in Pittsburgh but he has a $16M home in CT, good luck painting him as local.
Concerning Hillary as a "carpetbagger" for NY Senator. Not only do I remember that but BOTH myself and older daughter went together at the polls to vote for her.
The Clintons moved to NY in 1999. However, ask yourself where they are today? After 25 years they still live in NY. Why didn't carpetbagger Hillary move back to her "Home State" of Arkansas after 2 terms as NY Senator?
Where is Dr. Oz today after losing to Fetterman? Went back to his FARM in PA to grow his crudites???????

You accept Democrats running out of a state they have no connection to and you feign its problematic over a guy born and raised in Michigan, whose already represented Michigan, and spent 90% of his life here running out of Michigan, simply because he has an R after his name.

You're toxic, not sincere.
I know he lived in Michigan, not the point. It sure appears his residence is in Florida but he decided to run last year. I have seen the threads you created, rather hypocritical to call anyone toxic.

Trump Is Trying Something New With the 2024 Campaign. It’s Smart—and Terrifying.
…Trump meted out endorsements in midterm races to candidates who did the best Trump impressions, but being weird and appealing to the narrow MAGA base no longer gets the job done.
For example: There are any number of maniacs in the state of Michigan whom Trump could have recruited for the Senate Republican primary. Instead, Trump endorsed Rep. Mike Rogers, a member in good standing in the pre-Trump Republican establishment, a longtime CNN contributor and a former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Rogers is the sort of Republican, in other words, who knows Trump for what he is, and for years struggled to keep that thought to himself. Though Rogers pretended to be an enthusiastic Trumper once he announced his Senate run last year, few found that particularly convincing. He was, however, the strongest Republican in the primary in a state that Trump hopes to flip in November, and so Rogers earned the endorsement. Trump doesn’t want a dingbat dragging him down.
That’s not the only place Trump’s resisted the bait to prop up an extreme candidate. In Montana, Trump endorsed the Senate campaign arm’s recruit Tim Sheehy over Freedom Caucus member Matt Rosendale. The impact of that endorsement was so sharp that Rosendale dropped out days after entering the race. Trump similarly endorsed Senate GOP leaders’ pick of West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice in that state’s Senate race, essentially locking up the primary for Justice and forcing Sen. Joe Manchin into retirement. While Trump hasn’t endorsed Larry Hogan in Maryland’s Senate race, he has agreed not to attack him (for now). That’s a big deal, as Trump hates Hogan, and vice versa. https://news.yahoo.com/trump-trying-...094500425.html
