Its like competing to see who can be the most socialist of the two.

I just got done harping on Obama for his socialist views! But McCain is all the same.

How about this...it is their company, they can run it the way they want to. If people do not like it, don't invest or buy products from the company then.

share holders appoint board members, who in turn determine the pay of CEO's. the problem is when share holders make the CEO the chairmen of the board as well. at the end of the day, the power already rests with the shareholders.

It's exactly the same as our government. We elect people to do the best that is in our interests. Shareholders can already call for the resignation of a CEO.

I'm surprised at McCain. I thought he would be more of a business friendly candidate. However, he's likely calling for CEO pay to be regulated because of all the backlash against corporate America these days ... and I can see it as his attempt to swoon the independents & some of the undecided Dems who supported Hillary.

But I agree with you 100%. CEOs can run their corporation however they want (so long as it's within the law). Of course CEOs are going to earn a high amount of income for thier position. It's called working your way up. Those who own shares of stock in the company have the ability to vote, and they can vote out the CEO if they feel that he/she is not ethical, or running the company as it should be.
