They have in Ohio, they will in PA.
We know that, but big brother either doesn't know or care. It will surely come to pass! Remember they have an agenda. I know the restaurant
association went along with this ban, so they will have to live with. At least the bars were against it, because it's gonna hurt them more.

Pitts64 The smoking bars were always cooler because that was where the action was. If we had seperate bars now, the non smokers would still come.

I love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love the new smoking ban. Thank you Pennsylvania legislature and Gov. Rendell for FINALLY doing something right.

The smoking ban means that I will no longer leave a restaurant reeking of cigarette smoke because of someone else's filthy habit. It means that I won't wake up with a sore throat after dining out, because the second-hand smoke wafting my way makes me want to choke.

And if the smoking ban means that smokers have to trek outside in the dead cold of winter to indulge in their addiction, all I have to say is 'good'.

In an ideal world, all smoking will be completely abolished, and the way things are going, 50 years from now, smoking will become as archaic as 'colored-only' restrooms.

Bar and restaurant owners have the responsibility to make sure patrons abide by the law. The fine for violation is $250 for a first offense, $500 for a second offense and $1,000 the third time.

Law enforcement officials can enforce the ban.

Sooooo, if you light up in a restaurant where I happen to be, and the owner doesn't make you put it out or go outside, you can be sure that I will call the police.

Do the police have better things to do than cite a bar owner and/or give you a fine for smoking? Yes.

Do I care? No. I'll still call the cops.

It's not up to law enforcement to enforce the law. And you're URGED NOT TO call 911 to report a violation! There is an 800 number, and enforcement is done by the individual county's health department

U really think smoking is harmless? To you , to me, to the people other than you in your house?

OK

Pretty much everyone in my family died from smoking one way or another except those of us smart enough to quit and still here. My Mom has clots and is on a oxygen tank because she thought like you. Good luck, you will need it.

Well, then, I URGE smokers not to break the law, so that I don't have to call the cops.

If a smoker isn't able to accommodate me by putting out his or her cigarette, I'm not going to accommodate the smoker by holding back from calling the police.

Now that the law is FINALLY on the nonsmokers' side, you can be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that I will make a HUGE scene if a smoker lights up where they're not supposed to...and then I'll call the cops. The only thing smokers have to worry about is hiding the evidence before the police get there. Thank goodness for cameraphones.
