Should we give socialism a try in America? Do you think this would work or do you think it would fail here?

Fail. We are too large to support a socialist model as they have them in Europe, and we are too independent to accept the model they have in venezuela.

Hahahaha... it would fail... those who are fortunate to be blessed with intelligence and talent will leave this country in droves and those who are successful like celebrities will ALSO abandon America... they like to talk but they don't walk the walk... SUCCESSFUL companies will leave as well... leaving companies in financial trouble hoping for a bailout cause that is what a socialist country would do... so now that money, talent, and successful go-getters are leaving... what you get is... people trying to steal from each other to get entitlements and handouts... and television shows without the overpaid actors/actresses... you can't steal from a particular group anymore and get away with it... without the money and talent you can expect America to become the next Mexico... if America was to become a socialist country, I would certainly leave... I will bring my talents and capital to another country...

I'm a huge fan of socialism, but that sort of system generally doesn't work in large countries.

Bush/Paulson/Bernanke did the Hugo Chavez to the mortgage market and one of the biggest insurance companies. You're getting your wish.

We already HAVE socialism. Only it's a socialism for the rich. That's why taxpayers will ultimately foot the bill so that wealthy CEO's & corporate stockholders can be reimbursed for the trillions of dollars they lost while committing mortgage & stock fraud.

Hahaha... only for the rich? More like only for the uber-wealthy and the low to middle class families... anyone in between is stolen from... and those are the ones who really build America..

We're already been giving socialism a try to some extent as in Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid. They must be successful since no major politicians are calling for the abolishment of such socialism.
