The author , Mike Yon , has spent more time embedded with American and Allied units than any other reporter.
I heard about this a few weeks ago and finally ordered it today.
Maybe it will explain why the American and Allied KIA and WIA rates have dropped as much as they have.
The reviews and extracts at Amazon .com and all over the net are impressive.

"The Strongest Tribe " by Bing West sounds good , too.

Anybody read either one? Reportedly one candidate has endorsed both books.

I saw Bing West last week, might have been on Charlie Rose.

Anyone who believes that the KIA/WIA numbers changed SO DRAMATICALLY and SO QUICKLY because of the surge has been drinking the Kool-Aid.

Both Yon and Bing credit factors that go way beyond the surge.

They both seem to think the turn around started before the surge.

I guess I have to connect the dots for gbear, even though he seems to agree with me.

The books, as well as other evidence shows that the RAPID DECREASES IN KIA/WIA were NOT due solely, or even primarily to the surge. Yet McCain/Palin constantly point to the surge as the be all and end all, and revile Obama for being against it.

I figured that someone who could read non-fiction would catch my drift. You normally seem pretty bright. Did you have a rough day?

pin it on McCain. All the stupid Bush mistakes. and even further back , all the even more stupid (and more calculated for political advantage) Clinton mistakes.

Meanwhile , back in the real world:

US and Allied KIA & WIA rates are way , way down.

A/Q murders of civilians are way , way down.

Sectarian violence is way , way down.

Read 'em and weep, hypocrites.
