What If Barack wins... and doesn't improve black America one bit? The methods that Barack Obama is going to use to reduce African-American poverty if he is elected president -- welfare checks and government sponsored social programs - are known failures.

If Obama doesn't improve the condition of black America, will he be considered a traitor? A fake? A false prophet? Or will his most important constituency hypocritically say that everything he did was right, and that he is the saviour of the world, even if conditions within the black community continued to nose dive in his presidential term?

Rev Jesse Jackson and Rev Al Sharpton are still around, and I have never received a satisfactory answer to what exactly they have done to better the black community. It seems their 'power' is directly derived from an illusion of help, without actually doing anything.

Then he will have been a good president. A president should not "improve" any particular group of Americans any more than any other---especially a particular group that he is one of.

Some people can only see race. You can't fix them...you can only wait until they all expire...

thats the real question. im not worried about one particular group. and im sure he is not either. he is concerned with the whole country. improving the whole lot. why does it always come down to race?

Bigmeanbear, if youre hoping that Obama wil improve your black community you are wrong. Its okay that you voted for him, but I hope it wasnt because you thought that he will make black America better. In order for things like that to happen you need to concentrate on your local elections. Good luck to you though.

Good point! Maybe he will actually be a good President, by NOT doing any of the impossible things he's promised for any particular group, but rather some improvements in government for the good of our Country in general.
