I just wanted to tell all of the anti-prop-8 crowds to stop attacking the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a member of the chuch, it is incredibly offensive to see the things that are being done and being said about the church. It is absurd to single out the LDS church when the Catholic chuch and other African-American churches campaigned and donated money to Yes on Prop 8.
US-Traveller, It is sad to see that so many people have no tolerance for religion when they have tolerance for gay issues. I say go for it, if a person or group lobbies for marriage to be a man and a woman. Forget the politically correct fools here. Follow your heart and morals.
If it is going to be the same thing why can't they just call it marriage? To make xtians feel better? They tried that equal but separate thing with African Americans, and it didn't go over too well. What extra harm would come from just calling it marriage? This is just a ploy to make homophobes feel like their relationship is somehow different and superior. I'm not saying this is how you feel, I just wanted to point out how ridiculous that compromise would be.
Some of my gay friends don't think it would be ridiculous - they are the ones who told me about this.
I just think that there is always a compromise but people are often too bull-headed. People just want to be "right".
None of these churches is against gay marriage and they are plenty big. Western Religions seem to be the only one's hung up on gay's getting married.
Episcopalian is a Western Christian religion. And Buddhism isn't really a religion, but more of a philosophy. I know several Christians who embrace Buddhism.

Yes Episcopalians are a breakaway from catholicism in which the Church of England was established when Henry wanted a divorce. Can Catholics get divorced now? Who was more progressive?

Episcopalian is an American Branch of the Anglican Church.
You don't seem to understand the difference between intervening in other peoples' business and being mad at people for intervening in others' business.
And its Gay Activists trying to force their views down everyones throats that's interfering with Marriage in the first place. You need to recognize that FIRST before you tell us anything else.
We are not equal but separate but we are definitely equal but different.
Believing totally in what a hater says is like taking notes from an F student.
