Why must Americans always say "We have Freedom of Religion" so so so much?"

I mean, other countries have it as well.

No one is going to kill you in Canada...England..Australia..France..Spain...China ..India...for your religion.

The only place I can really think about where they would kill you for a different religion are the Arabic countries.

But I notice that Americans seem to be the ones chanting about it the most.

Shed some light please!

Because a lot of people were raised being told that we are number one at everything. So they just assume that it must be worse for religion, and a great many other things, in other countries.

I was raised that way. My dad decorated my bedroom in a completely Stars and Stripes theme. He even had my grandma sew custom window curtains and bedclothes for me. I had the stars in my eyes for most of my youth and even sang the "Bomb Bomb Iran!" song, back during the hostage crisis. My dad was constantly telling us how America was unbeatable at anything and even used to have me and my little brother to mock "drill & ceremony". It took me about five years after I left my parents home at 18, to start to question that.

Hey I should let congress know they ought to collect royalties every time someone uses the word free on the planet. Offset taxing the rest of us at least.

Wow!!!
For real?

Yeah,I love America but lately I have been noticing people saying "Well my religion this and that..Freedom of religion.."

Well, yeah. It is true. America is one of those free countries but there is no denying other countries are free as well.

My boyfriend is Chinese and has been in China for a while. I asked him before posting this thread and he said no one would get killed for being part of any religion.

So I would have to say I disagree. What are the Chinese going to do about me being Wiccan? They won't kill me. Or if I were Christian. Most of the Chinese are Buddhist which is a very peaceful religion and they would not do that.

Just google religious persecution in China and you get tons of hits.
