What are your thought on this and may you find the truth, good luck!
I wondered about that question myself. What not the oil companies and why not a cash infusion from one of the soverieign investors in a oil rich country. They are the ones who would be hurt by a move toward non petro cars.
no one should bail them out. let them go up in smoke. survival of the fittest. we can blame democrats and their precious unions for the failure of the auto industry.

I agree 100%. Maybe even a little more, though mathematically impossible.
that's how we dealt with the auto industry throughout history. remember, AMC, nash, desoto, edsel, and other failed auto makers? they didn't get help from washington, why should the big 3?

They should not. I think they need to file Chapter 11 and renegotiate as needed to survive on their own. If they can't, they should fail.
Why should oil companies bail them out? People are buying oil. And people are buying cars and trucks. But the big 3 cannot compete because they've become a totally inefficient mammoth of ridiculous management. Let them die. Toyota, Hyundai, Honda, Nissan, and Mercedes all have operations within the US and are doing quiet well. If the big 3 cannot solve their ridiculous inefficiency, let them die forever.
