GAZA CITY — The Israeli Air Force on Saturday launched a massive attack on Hamas targets throughout Gaza in retaliation for the recent heavy rocket fire from the area, hitting mostly security headquarters, training compounds and weapons storage facilities, the Israeli military and witnesses said.

As I've been saying for almost 20 years, if Israel gets nuked someday it will have brought every ounce of its misery on itself.

In regards to the civilians who were killed in this attack (thankfully not too many this time), and in many past attacks such as the one in April where about 90 innocent people were killed, I denounce this attack. I completely symphasize with the poor Palestinian people. I am in no way a Hamas supporter, and I condemn them in many of their acts as well. But Israel is making a bad habit out of murdering innocents. And then they wonder why some Palestinian might go and blow himself up to wipe out a few Israeli soldiers? Because the poor Palestinian has no other means to resist. "It's better to die on your fight then live on your knees." That's the mentality they go in with.

What did Hamas think would happen? They have been raining rockets on Israel - they obviously want a war, now they have one, possibly.

When they are defeated, perhaps a true peace will take hold.

Israel is second only to the United States in governments that export violence

Hard NOT to do that when Hamas uses civilians as a shield.

Of course, MOST of the civilians thoroughly approve of Hamas and their tactics. You reap what you sow.

As far as I can tell, Hamas started this by launching rockets into Israel - what should the Israeli's do? Ignore it? Make nice? Lay down like good little lambs?

Let them fight, let there be a clear winner and a loser - then they can sue for peace.

The only way there will be peace in the Middle East is when there is no Israeli apartheid state in the Middle East. Godspeed the day.

Hamas does not use civilians as targets. Tragically, they may be surrounded by them though seeing as Gaza as a small as a pebble and holds 1.5 million people in. You'd think Israel with its advanced technology could find an easier way to hit targets.

True. Israel was founded on terrorism. That's not hyperbole, most of their leaders were on the UK's Most Wanted list. Now they are dealing with the same tactics in which they specialized. Oh well.

The civilian population (if there really is one in Gaza) supports Hamas, shields them, approves of their tactics. Since that is the case, they should be prepared for the consequences.
