A 40-Year Wish List - WSJ.com

Quote:
We've looked it over, and even we can't quite believe it. There's $1 billion for Amtrak, the federal railroad that hasn't turned a profit in 40 years; $2 billion for child-care subsidies; $50 million for that great engine of job creation, the National Endowment for the Arts; $400 million for global-warming research and another $2.4 billion for carbon-capture demonstration projects. There's even $650 million on top of the billions already doled out to pay for digital TV conversion coupons.
Just remember who wrote it if it blows up on ourselves.

We need as many public transportation options as possible. I believe Amtrak still has potential, especially in a megapolis like the Northeast.

What's wrong with climate control research? Child care?

If you're a senior citizen, or someone that doesn't have the digital conversion set up, would you rather pay $65 or $15?

Obama supporters don't care. It's pathetic. I'm glad none of the Republicans voted for it let the Democrats make fools of themselves. Spineless parasites.

The spineless parasites are the ones strutting around as if their own mind-boggling stupidity isn't what made the stimulus bill necessary in the first place.

Please check the stupidity coming out of your mouth before pointing out other stupidity in this world.

Your heroes in our government are the EXACT ones who created this situation. It isn't a Republican or Democrat thing, it is a GOVERNMENT thing, and from what I have seen from you, you don't seem to realize this.

This Stimulus Bill does NOT help the situation.

OMG.... they spent 6 billion a YEAR on cars every year? And they want 600 M more? Do they think every federal employee should ride Mercedes or something? Holy crap is this a waste of ****.... I don't know what to say, it seems that half of it is junk... I thought Obama was going to improve it after talking with Republicans but it doesn't look like it... why are we sending money to the Smithsonian when people are dying in their homes?
